The Story of the Four Thieves
Thieves essential oil blend was inspired by the legend of four 14th-century thieves in France. The thieves were actually spice traders and merchants who imported spices, including cinnamon and clove from India. When the Black Plague hit, all international shipping and trade was closed down. Unable to do business, these spice traders quickly ran out of money and had to find a way to support themselves. Since everyone was afraid to touch the dead bodies, they decided to loot the homes and bodies of the plaque victims. They would take clothes, jewelry, pots and pans, and then barter or trade them for food and money. They knew they wouldn't get sick if they rubbed vinegar, oils, and certain spices all over their bodies.

When the King heard about the story of the thieves, he wanted to know their secret. He wanted to know how they were able to touch dead bodies without getting sick! How did they protect themselves from the dreaded disease?
He sent his Constables out to capture them. Four of the thieves were caught and brought before the King. What is Thieves Essential Oil Blend?
Thieves is the one oil I was really really really hoping was included in the Premium Starter Kit. It was the one oil I had seen flying across my Facebook news feed; especially during cold and flu season. Everyone was talking about it. I knew I wanted this- needed this.
Anyone who knows me, knows that I was forever ruined when I took my first micro-biology class in college. GERMS!! I learned more about them than anyone should- ever. I was no longer able to interact with the world around me without anxiety and a hazmat suit. I got over myself and resulted to washing my hands more often- but I never forgot what I learned about germs and how easily they are spread.
Then, our son was born 100 days premature and extremely vulnerable. My 19 year old self came back and now I wanted to put our baby in a hazmat suit- but I didn't. Instead, we've been borderline obsessive about hand washing, hand sanitizer, antibacterial surface wipes and disinfectant spray. How We Use Thieves Around the House
Stuffed Animals: To disinfect and clean, place animal(s) inside pillowcase and tie shut. Fill washer with detergent. Add 5-10 drops of Thieves Essential Oil, (for small load) to washing machine. Wash on gentle cycle.
Hair spray buildup, gum, gummy adhesive: Dilute 8 drops in 4 ounces of water, spray, let set for a few minutes before wiping.
Dishwasher: Add 4-5 drops thieves oil to thoroughly clean dishes, eliminate bacteria and odors.
Laundry: Add 5-6 drops per load to freshen and disinfect.
Plants: To repel aphids/bugs, spray plants with a mixture of 2 drops thieves oil to every 4 ounces of water.
Surface Disinfectant: To clean and sanitize surfaces, add 8-10 drops to 8 oz. of water in spray bottle.
Children’s Toys: Add 4-5 drops to sink water and wash children's toys to clean and disinfect.
